For Posterity

Naomi just started sitting up by herself yesterday. She is so close to crawling. She does the army crawl really well, but hasn't quite mastered the real crawl. I know 2 people with babies the same age as her that have been crawling for 2 months. As Ray puts it, "Naomi's just fat, she just wants to lay there and be fat!" Which isn't completely true, she rolls all over the place :)

Maggie is a dancing machine!! She loves to dance. Her favorite show is "Fresh Beat Band" on Nickelodeon. She actually can follow some of the choreography during the opening and closing scenes! Whenever slow music comes on she gets this really funny look on her face, like she is about to cry, and does her own little interpretive dance. Up next, potty training. Am I up to this, you may ask, after the potty training debacle of '08/'09- Exhibit A, Exhibit B ? We shall see...

Elliot's favorite word right now is "holy cow!!" Like yesterday at Grace's soccer practice he said, "Holy Cow! I am so good at monkey bars!". He holds his hands out to the sides and moves them up and down enthusiastically as he says it. Oh yeah, he also recently learned to do the monkey bars and he LOOOOVES them now. I started reading Bob books with him the other day and he is picking up reading so fast. I wish I would've started earlier...I had very good intentions.

Grace scored a goal at her soccer game on Saturday!! First time. She was so excited. She has really improved this season. She has a really good coach. She is also reading so well now. We practice every day and she is really improving. She is really excited because she is going to be singing a duet at church during the yearly primary program (once a year the kids at our church are responsible for the program, showing us what they have learned in sunday school during the year). She has a very pretty voice and isn't shy about it, which I think is wonderful!

And.....2 weeks from right now I will be in Maui!

I loved that update! Asher took 6 months to roll over! He too was just too fat! Once he DID start moving though, the fat started becoming less and less, there really is something to the rolly-polly feel of a chubby, adorable baby!

I wish I could dance! Maggie is going to be in dance soon, I bet. She is lucky to have that talent!

I bet Elliot is some kind of awesome on the monkey bars. Is he getting callouses on his hands?!

I wish I could hear the primary program. I bet it is going to be so precious. Tell Grace look luck and that I love singing too so we have something in common.

As for Hawaii! ENJOY IT TO THE MAX! I bet it is going to be spectacular! You deserve the break and vacation. Congratulations again, on ten whole years.

You lucky dog!!!
I love that Elliot can do the monkey bars!!! My kids so do not get that.
I wish I could hear Grace sing! (Can you sneak in your camera so you can video it?)
You have to get some video of Maggie dancing, that is for sure.
Naomi is still young. Colby did the army crawl until he walked when he was over 1, remember? Kids do whatever they feel like, rolling is fun, right?

The sad part is, we are going to be in Hawaii when they have the primary program :( But mom and dad will be able to see it.

Crystal, Elliot is getting callouses on his hands, it is so cute!

You're going to Hawaii? Lucky! Actually our friends just put the deposit down on our condo for April. 6 months to lose the weight!
Mia just showed me today how good she is on the monkey bars at school. That girl is taking off. Just tell Elliot not to EVER jump from the uneven bars to the monkey bars. Unless he wants to break his right arm again the day before the big state fill in the bubble test. Trust me.

For Grace singing in the program was partially me. I proof read the program. (why would a lawyer need a 6th grader to proof read a program):) I've been to Maui twice and you are going to LOVE it!!!

Can't wait to spend some serious time with those kids in just a week. Of course, when that week is up, I'm sure I will be happy to leave them behind, for a while anyway.

Also Becky, regarding your last post, it caused me to wax reminiscent and reflective, so I left you a long (two part) comment there. I would like at least all my kids to read it.

Life sounds good and exciting at your house. :) Singing, dancing, reading, rolling, monkey bars, potty training... all great accomplishments! Wish we could see those cute kiddos sometime soon. I can't believe your trip is in 2 weeks! You guys definitely deserve the break!
