Random Update

My life is pretty boring and I haven't had anything good to post.  So I decided to do a random midweek update!!

**I guess this is something that is super duper exciting...ELLIOT IS POTTYTRAINED!!!!  For the last 3 or 4 days, he has been going #1 and #2 on his own, without me saying anything.  No accidents.  And he has been staying dry most nights.  Do you hear the angels singing "Hallelujah"?  Yeah, me too.

**Maggie loooves garbanzo beans.  I was eating some on a salad and she came and sat by me and ate bean after yummy bean.  Who knew?

**I quit drinking caffeine last week.  It was surprisingly easy.  I only had a headache the first day.  The hardest part is psychological, like not taking a soda with me whenever I get in the car, things like that.  And I really like soda, so that's hard, but the physical withdrawal hasn't been bad.

**There are still 5 more days of school.  It just seems a little wrong that kids have to go to school so far into June.  And they start again on Aug.  26th.  I guess they have never started before labor day here, and it is interfering with tons of pre-planned summer activities.  What's up with that?

**I am reading a REALLY good book called "A Town Like Alice".  You should check it out if you want a good, fun read.

**I know I am a "Twilight" nerd, but I recently saw the trailer for "New Moon" and it looks really good!!

**Naomi rolled over last week, but hasn't done it again.  She was 5 months old yesterday, so wierd, and she is so adorable.  She gets up on her elbows when she is laying on her tummy and holds her head up so well.  I just can't stop kissing her little face!  She isn't sleeping all night yet, but every once in a while she does (like last night, yay me!).

**I got my hair cut and colored a few weeks ago.  I love the cut, but I'm having a hard time getting used to the color.  For the last few years, all I have wanted to do is start coloring my hair again.  It got to the point where I was pulling out WAY too many grey hairs, so I finally got it colored.  Needless to say, I'm having a hard time getting used to it...

**Grace got a new haircut, too.  It is super cute (I can't believe I just said "super cute") on her.  I need to post a pic, once I take one!

**I think my husband is going to have a stroke over the current state of affairs in the country/ economy.  He calls me up a few times every day, scandalized over something he heard on the radio.  I have to remind him that there is more to life than politics, it's all he talks about.

**I hate to be one of those people who says "I told you so" but, I told you so...(see the following Youtube clip)

Have a great day!!

I love hearing about the everyday things in friends' lives. I guess it makes me feel normal or something. Hello? I'm dying to see pics of the new haircut.

What a fun, fun time for you. I think your life is the definition of "not boring." Congratulations on the potty training! I was wondering about that today! My friend's son was 4.5 before he was trained too. She was sure he would wear diapers forever, but he woke up one day trained too. What a blessing for you!

I had garbonzos tonight. I just LOVE the taste. They are ambrosia.

Elliot, what a guy, but what I really love is after you said all Ray talks about is politics, you showed and Obama video. Beautiful.

I went back to highlighting my hair. I really missed being blonde. I am much happier with it now, I don't feel so dumpy and Colin said he likes it even better blonde. For me he's saying, "Go ahead and highlight all you want!" Can't wait to see Grace's haircut.

Becky, CONGRATS on the NO CAFFEINE- that is just a dream for me! And, congrats on Elliot's potty-training... YAY!

But dare I comment about your clip? Obama may have been mistaken, and we are all disappointed. Agreed. However, if we were to play that game, couldn't we blame Bush for a whole lot of the current crisis? Like the amount of money and lives spent in Iraq for one?

Lastly, tell Ray to QUIT LISTENING to talk radio, especially if it's conservative talk... they are full of crap!

Are we still friends? :)

Mary, you are so funny!! Of course we are still friends! I also agree, the crap comes from both sides of the fence. I was just totally against the stimulus package (the one done by Bush, too) so I feel a bit vindicated :)

Sounds like you'd better post a pic of Gracie's new haircut soon! I also want to see it. ;-) Yay for Elliot! I love that Maggie loves Garbanzo's...it seems to fit her personality. Can't wait to see all of the kids again in August.
