First Grade

I officially have a 1st grader...weird. I have been feeling a little nervous about Grace being in school all day. All week I have been giving her little bits of advice, "Go potty at recess and lunch, because you will be at school AAAALLLL day and you can't just hold it until you get home.", "Try to eat your lunch kind of fast because you don't have much time and you won't be able to have a snack and hour later, like at home.", "Get a drink at recess so you don't get too thirsty in class.", "What's our phone number?!".  In kindergarten they take care of the kids, they shelter them and make sure they are okay.  They have a special playground and everything.  It's a whole new ball game once 1st grade rolls around.   But, she will be fine, mostly because she knows she will be fine-she's cool like that!

Of course she picked out her own outfit for the first day.  She insisted on wearing the scarf that came with the shirt...which I'm sure her teacher will make her put away because she won't stop taking it off and putting it back on!

I love this picture because you can see her two missing teeth :)

I can't believe how old she looks, *sigh*

Elliot starts preschool on Monday.  I will have two hours of "me" time in the afternoons when Maggie and Naomi are napping.  I don't know what I will do with myself...except I can't leave the house :)

What a big, pretty girl! I hope the day was awesome (I bet it was!). Me time... ahhhh, how I miss "me" time... I guess in 6-7 years or so?

I can hardly wait to hear how Elliot does!

By the way, Valerie has decided Grace looks just like her. We hear about it about 2 times every day ;-)

She does look so grown up! I am nervous about next week for Mia but ready to party for the 10th when Jack is off to preschool. I know that sounds mean but my boy is CRAZY. You all know that though. Mia has a shirt with a scarf. I am sure it will be the same story. I LOVE Grace's denim skirt. Where did you get it? I am boycoting school shopping until the weather cools. Maybe by then it will mostly be on sale.

I can see some similarities b/n Grace and Valerie. You should find a 1st grade pic so we can see the comparison :) Lori, I got it at Target-I love that place!!

Yes! weird. I to cannot believe she's in grade school. The last time I felt like this was when Colin grew so fast and was looking me in the eye at about age 16. I was like, "who are you and what have you done with my son?" But it's all good, I guess. We just have to be proud of their progress and enjoy the ride. Grace is such a plesant child. It should be a really fun ride.

That was me last year! It IS so weird to have a first grader... but you're right, she'll be fine. :) She looks adorable on her first day Becky; those are some amazing blue eyes she's got!

Have fun with your "me" time... I still haven't figured out how to accomplish that and I have one less kid than you do!!!
