***Sigh*** Having mature landscaping it totally overrated...

Grace and Maggie were using the pooper scooper to rake leaves :)

(See all those leaves still on the tree?)
Or is it?
Elliot was being a party pooper at this point, and wouldn't come join in the fun...

He changed his mind!

Yes, Maggie was eating dirt...

Ray had the wonderful idea of camping out in the backyard, which he discussed with Grace before me...needless to say, that was NOT going to happen in the freezing weather, so I compromised by letting them camp out in the back room-I made Ray sleep in there with them :)

I totally understand about mature landscaping. We had a HUGE silver maple when we lived in Hyrum. Mike would fill his truck up and then some again with leaves. Our biggest trees here are spruce. Mike raked about a week ago and raked up a mere 5 bags of leaves. Most of our trees on on the young side so we'll see how I feel about it in a few years.
You guys either keep up well on your dog poop patrol or aren't as paranoid about the kids getting into poop as I am. I don't like letting Piper out in the backyard much yet because I don't want her stepping in a landmine.
The camping out story is a classic dad story. Dads always mean well, sometimes they just have the tendency to not think about the details.
You guys are the cutest family EVER! Ray sounds like such a great dad; I bet your kids adore him. How cute to camp "inside"!
And mature landscaping is WAY over-rated!
That video is great!! We've had a tent up in our front room since I went to Virginia. Jason got it for $12 at Walmart, which is good since Colby already broke a couple of the poles.
Erin, I am so not good about poopy patrol, but Max always poops over on the other side of the yard :)
Becky, I've told you before, how impressed I am with your mothering, but this comment is for Ray. Watching that leaf video reminded me of what I have observed before: What a dedicated, fun father you are for those kids. It's obvious that they love you very much. Together you and Becky have made such a happy home for them. They can't help but succeed as they approach the grim world with a bright outlook. On the other hand, you can be firm with them when they need it, and that will help them develop integrity. I know you were not given a very good example of fathering as you grew up, but somehow you've overcome that and you are doing a great job. Keep up the good work. It means a lot to a grandpa.
This post is so cute Becky! Camping indoors? I bet the kids had the time of their life!
Seeing all the leaves makes me wish we had trees. Like your Dad said you guys are such great parents!!!!!!
I wish Grace and Molly could know each other...
Are you going to POky for thanksgiving?
Steph and I are talking about going to visit. I know Molly and Kristi will be there. Let me know!!
I know you guys live far away but just in case...it would be so much fun!
Check out Loganladies.blogspot.com in about two days. I am going to post pics of Steph's kids. She is starting to get into photography and we went yesterday to practice shooting. Her kids are SOOO cute and of course just like Steph...FUNNY!
Awwww...seriously so fun and so cute. I love how excited Grace was, and ditto to everyone else's comments. Ray is such a fun dad!
What fun!! And what a happy family you guys have. I love hearing about all the great things you do together and I just LOVE the vid of Ray tossing the kids into the leaves. We've got lots of leaves in our yard, too...makes me want to go make use of them. :) Can't wait to see you guys!
